HIDDEN PREFERENCE MODE CHANGE TO 0 (DEFAULT IS 1)
Then go to phone options/services/mode of operations you should now have a choice of Hybrid EVDO only or 1X only. This could possibly be ROM dependent.

FYI you can also enable nam selection in this registry string among many others. If it says hidden, 0 = vissible 1= hides. If doesn't say hidden 1= enable 0=disables.
