A lot of the variations have to do with the file size that is being used for the test. You are going to get a much better result with a smaller file size, so be sure and select the largest they have available (3 Mb) on mobilespeedtest if you use that one. Also, latency fluctuates quite a bit over a wireless connection. If you tether your TP2 and ping do a ping 4.2.2.2 -t, you will see there is no consistency in the latency you are getting from one ping to the next. That's one of the reasons you'll get different results each time you run the test. As for 12 Mb download speeds, unless you are on T-Mobile in Philly with an HSPA connection, it's not possible.
