Yeah, the photo app will find photos in all of the USB-accessible folders. What you want to do is make them hidden (nix style) by including a period as the first character in the folder name. For example... instead of "Private", use ".Private" (without the quotes, of course).
Now, the annoying part about this is that you won't be able to access those images in the photo app either. But, you do have some options.
Notes:
1. Internalz will see the hidden directory, so you can use it to view the photos.
2. If Palm ever cooperates with Jason and provides some info on the index update mechanism, you could use Internalz to remove the period from the folder name. For now, this doesn't work because it won't actually update until you reboot or put the phone into USB mode and then take it back out (which to me defeats the purpose).
3. If you're just looking for private mobile storage, then it's all good.
Anyway... yeah, include a period as the first character... that's the actual answer to your question.
