lol It is definitely possible because that is exactly what I did with my Vogue that I am using right now!
Works flawlessly. Apparently you didn't look close enough. You can set the camera button so on press it rotates screen and press and hold it activates camera. I have a Sprint Vogue but that shouldn't matter.
