I understand it can seem like a very confusing and difficult process at first, but really, it's not.
Have you checked out the
Murducky's Sashimi thread? That was a good start for me.
I suggest first just trying to install cabs using Sashimi. This is the easiest thing to do.
First you install Sashimi on your storage card, then you'll notice a Sashimi directory there. You'll place all the .cab file you would like to install in:
\Storage Card\Sashimi\Auto\Cab
It's the same thing for registry settings - just 'export' the registry items you wish to autoinstall to:
\Storage Card\Sashimi\Auto\Reg
Any .reg files in that directory will be written to the registry when sashimi runs.
And for sync, e-mail, & wireless settings just start Sashimi, choose 'Tools' then 'ok', then 'My Custom Tools' then 'ok', then 'Makisu' then 'ok', there you'll see:
Exchange ActiveSync
EMAIL
WIRELESS
XML OPERATIONS
Each of these will lead you through a series of dialoges similar to wm 6.5 mail setup, exchange setup, etc..., and when it's done you'll have Sashimi/Makisu write an XML to:
\Storage Card\Sashimi\Auto\XML
That's the basics. I do suggest watching the Makisu tutorial video again.
Best o' luck!
