Sounds like there is something wrong with it to me.

I used to own a stereo shop & I can hear high quality sound (I sold Mark Levison stuff at one point)

I wouldn't call my TP2 exactly audiophile quality, but it's every bit as good as my 2nd gen Ipod Touch using Ultimate Ears.
