Re: Sprint 'MIGHT' match Verizon's $199 Price
I consider myself lucky because just before leaving work yesterday (9/29) I decided to check the site and see the new threads related to my new TP2. I was excited to see that some of you were getting refunds for the price difference between Sprint and Verizon. So I decided to call and I had 3 unsuccessful attempts but the last call worked.
I first talked to a telesales rep who said no in every possible way she could think of, mainly because she new of no price changes on the TP2. In my second call I talked to a normal rep (non telesales) and she also new of no price change and could not help because I purchased the phone from telesales. The third call was the most upsetting as I had it escalated to retentions. This person did her best not to be rude but was very confusing in he attempts. She told me that there was an internal memo that said they would honor a lower price but later changed what she said to mean only if Sprint changed the price within 30 days.
I must say that I said to all reps that I heard the TP2 price was dropping to $199.
Finally the rep in retentions said she could not help me but understands I am unhappy with my situation and forwarded me to a SUPV voice mail. I hung up, and called back again. This time I got a rep that seems to know of the 30 day price change policy. After a little back and forth about a new price which she did not know of I asked her this question; "If the price was going to change on 10/1 would you be able to tell in your system?”. She checked and was surprised to see that the price was going into the system on 9/30 and would be active on 10/1. And lucky me, I purchased my phone on 9/8 so I would qualify for the price match. She noted my account and asked me to call back in the next day because the dept. that would help me is closed now.
To all you out there that keep getting turned down "DON'T GIVE UP".
