Touching on the subject at hand, mine seems to dip in the middle, but I agree with the above post that it's probably made that way because it's designed to be placed on its face. I don't know about you guys, but even with that intention, I never place mind face-down on a hard surface. I'll put it on a piece of paper or my lap instead of a table, counter, etc.
