I was going to suggest getting a hold of another VZN pro2 and play the exact same song with your earplugs and see if its noticable. If it is noticable then you are truly a audiophile. But if the noise is gone.. then chances are that you have a bad Pro2 with maybe improperly shielded audio circuitry. Alot fo time manufactures shiled their devices very well but once in a while the shielding is held down my simple glue. So maybe the glue was not applied properly and the shielding has shifted a bit, leading to this noise you speak of. Oh... I did get a good laugh on the Chinese Water tourture comment. that was great.
