What do you mean "what was on Sprint". I've got the Sprint TP2 and I can not find any kind of locking mechanism. Where did you find it??? You do realize this is a Touch Pro 2 (TWO) forum right? I'm assuming you are still on a Touch Pro from your info??? I think you're confusing the two devices.
I set the long press end key to lock. Yes, I am on a TP2.
Go to setting - All Settings - Buttons - End Key - Long Press End Key - Lock Device.

This lock sucks. When I put it in to my case, sometimes it unlocks because it seems to slide the keyboard just enough (very minimal - so much so that I do not notice it) to unlock the device.

But, The lock that I posted earlier keeps it locked. It can be set so that it locks with a phone call so that you can answer, but nothing else can be pressed (no other buttons). I have not noticed if the screen stays on. But at least I do not get random apps getting opened.

So, yes, I do have a TP2.

I would try the app I posted from XDA - It does seem to work. I have not tried the S2 app so I do not know how they compare, but I really like this because it keeps it locked. It is easy to turn on and off. It can be set to automatically load with each reset. It has a bunch of settings, but I only need it to stay locked. Plus it can automatically lock whenever I turn the screen off which I find very helpful. No extra buttons to push.
