I have a Verizon XV6900, it is literally brand new as of a week ago, I bought it after learning that Android could be successfully ported to it. My radio is 3.37.78 (is there a newer one? how would I get it?) My PRI is version 2.03_002 (does this have to do with the GPS?)
1. Can I port Android and leave my phone running Android ALL the time? I use my phone as an alarm in the morning so I generally charge it before bed, unplug it and leave it on my bedside table...
2. Is there a good program to sync Android with my macbook?
3. Can I get apps for Android WITHOUT a data plan?
4. Do texting and voice mail work with Android as of now?
5. Is there any way to use the gps on my phone in Android for free?
6. How do I run unsigned apps? I read that you need to be able to run unsigned apps to boot Android, I'm not sure what that means or how to do it, do I need a program?
7. Can I use my Mac to sync an get Android running? I have SyncMate...
Thanks for the great write-up, I have more research to do before I get this going, but I appreciate any help you can give me!

Let me preface these answers by saying that I have only used the Sprint Touch to run Android so your experience may vary. Also I have absolutely no experience with Macs so my answers are based off of others research.
1.) You can leave android running all the time. As more developers have more time, the bugs get worked out and things are better and better. But be aware that android uses a lot more juice than WinMo will so make sure you have access to a charger if you plan on running it all day.
2.) There is a program to sync with Mac's etc, but I do not know what its called.
3.) Getting apps to work with android off air may be harder but I'm not sure. You may have to look around for apps to download to you Mac and then sync to the phone. This may be complicated though.
4.) Text and voice mail do work with android. I haven't used it in a while, but last time I heard anything the bug that will tell you that your text have not been sent is still present, BUT your text ARE going through.
5.) I'm not positive but I think ANY GPS on any phone will require use of data. You may want to look around in the vogue forum to see if this is even possible.
6.) All you need to run unsigned programs is a little cab called "sdkcerts". You should be able to find it pretty easily.
7.) You don't need anything to get android running once you get the package on your storage card. It is all self-contained.
