shaggy, thanks for posting the detailed instructions above (I will thank when I finish this post). I followed yay4juggs' post but I couldn't find cm_guardian in the "services" list like he said, but I did notice that killing the process entirely allows the reg hacks to stick. This is good - so your instructions above mean to create a dummy file with the same name as the original cm_guardian, I presume, then this will work for good, at least between soft resets. Adds quite a bit of work to a new flash, though - I'm still hoping some ROM chef who is still working with the TP1 will create a ROM with this baked right in.
Edit: what happens if you just rename cm_guardian or delete it? Answering myself, I renamed it HTC_CM_Guardian.old and when I soft reset there was my HTC_CM_Guardian.old right alongside a brand-new HTC_CM_Guardian.exe. So looks like dummy file it is.
