Re: Android On Vogue - n00b Guide
So I'll be getting an SD card in the new few days to try to port Android this weekend. I have some questions though that I'd like to find some answers to. If anyone has any info for me, I'd greatly appreciate it!
I have a Verizon XV6900, it is literally brand new as of a week ago, I bought it after learning that Android could be successfully ported to it. My radio is 3.37.78 (is there a newer one? how would I get it?) My PRI is version 2.03_002 (does this have to do with the GPS?)
1. Can I port Android and leave my phone running Android ALL the time? I use my phone as an alarm in the morning so I generally charge it before bed, unplug it and leave it on my bedside table...
2. Is there a good program to sync Android with my macbook?
3. Can I get apps for Android WITHOUT a data plan?
4. Do texting and voice mail work with Android as of now?
5. Is there any way to use the gps on my phone in Android for free?
6. How do I run unsigned apps? I read that you need to be able to run unsigned apps to boot Android, I'm not sure what that means or how to do it, do I need a program?
7. Can I use my Mac to sync an get Android running? I have SyncMate...
Thanks for the great write-up, I have more research to do before I get this going, but I appreciate any help you can give me!
