Any attempt to turn on t9 on the keyboard fails...because it seems there's a function already built into the program.
...let me test somethign else quick and I'll report back...I think I understand a little better the problem youre describing.

I think we're having the same problem. Just as you were saying, once you're in xt9 or abc mode to begin with, you will be stuck in that mode when using google maps. The problem I have is, I have xt9 on when I am typing txt or other things on the phone, so naturally XT9 is till on when I use google. The thing is........ google maps doesn't like it when xt9 is on. no matter what I type, there's no display of what I type. Any attempts to switch to ABC would then make all the letters I've typed show up then it'll switch back to xt9 by itself. Hopefully this clears up some confusions.
