I was told at my local Sprint Store that on October 1st, the price would be dropped to 199 USD after discounts to match Verizon's price for the phone. I am still in my 30 day return window. I could return the phone and repurchase it, but that would cost me in shipping, and also would be bad business for Sprint as it would be used. Several other people I know have recieved the 150 dollar difference as a account credit.

The credit I recieved before was because my old Touch Pro phoneswere defective and I was on my 5th phone, they gave me a discount since I upgraded early, this is a totally separate issue.

I was told by the store assistant manager they could not do this as they do not sell the phone. I would have to mail it in. I just wanted to avoid returning the phone, I am happy with it, but I would like to take advantage of the price drop.

From what I understand, there has been an email circulated throughout Sprint that informs of the impending price drop. Perhaps I heard wrong.

I apologize for any inconvenience, however we do not show that the phone was sold to you with your upgrade eligibility as you were not eligible for it. The price drop information was only eligible to be applied when the line was eligible for that discounted pricing. So if you were offered the match in this, it has to be noted from the vendor where you were offered this. You would need to go back into that Sprint store and have them note any offer on the account that you were given if we are to be able to credit anything towards the account.

I wasn't offered this in the store, they just informed me that the price was dropping on the 1st, so I wanted to see if I could have the price drop as a credit, it would have the same net effect without me having to return a perfectly good phone, so Sprint would not suffer. I will try again on the 1st if necessary.
