Ha! i knew I was digging back thru my collection of reg hacks and updating with new ones and re-organizing for a reason, too bad I never finished.. lol
A. Active sync is NOT required to flash stock rom exe's. simply put the phone into bootloader manually. (vol-dwn + pwr + reset)
B. Teathering is not broken if your legit.
otherwise...there are services running that watch for changes like this and revert to the providers settings. I'm not sure if they are different from the original, but I imagine the tp cleanup would fix.
