Just a note of comparison: Up until now I had a Pocket Solutions TP2 protector, with the camera hole (just to get me by). Overall, the film was thin and rubbery. Easy on and off, but somthing about the rubber attracted lint, no matter how steamy the room in which it was applied or how much water used. Any lint or fiber would cause a large section around it not to adhere properly and leave me with a bubble. I got it down pretty close, except for a small piece of lint near one edge. Since I knew there was sonthing else coming, I decided to live with it. In only a week it definately had some styls marks in the rubbery face. Fit, too was poor. But it got me by.
On to the Clear Protector (which arrived today):
As stated, the Clear Protector definately has a heavy feel for sure. Since their site suggests its a 2-layer film, it makes some sence.
Fit was awsome, edge-to-screen-edge. Nothing left exposed.
It went on fast and easy. I got one fine piece of lint underneath on the first attempt. The protector adhered so well around it however, that it's only visible if you tilt the screen just right (or wrong?). I think I would be hard pressed to do better in another attempt, so I'm going to leave well enough alone. It's in the black, below the zoom bar, near the HTC logo anyhow. So not in the illumimated screen area.
At first... after powering up about 5 minutes after applying... I thought that it was going to create some significant distortion. Almost looked like a fine (but translucent) grid pattern mesh over the screen. As the piece has continued to dry however, that distortion has completely gone away.
It did have a weird/heavy feel out of the package... installed however, I'm not feeling the "Industrial plastic food wrap" feel that newireless mentioned. In fact, it's difficult to tell by touch that there's a screen protector on the device. It feels (and IMO responds) like there's nothing on the face of the device. No rubbery feel like the others I've tried (Pocket Solutions and InvisiShield). Much faster when swiping a finger across the face of the device. I believe it'll hold up to touch operation no problem. We'll see about the stylus (which I use probably more than most).
Clear Protector has a lifetime warranty, but you need to keep your reciept. Don't know how practical that is, but I'll fold mine up and throw it in my phone's box, on a shelf, in the garage.
Overall, for less that $7... I'm thinking this is a top-notch protector. If anything comes up to the contrary, I will be sure and update here with me experience.
So far. I'm loving it.
