The included PIMbackup doesnt recognize .vol, but does recognize .pbd files
AFAIK. It may be as simple as changing the file extension, but file types are not my specialty so dont hold me to that, make a copy of your pim.vol before playing with it.
Sashimi has a pim back up that uses .vol and IMO is a crucial tool to even the occasional flasher. Initial set up takes some time so you may want to try my first suggestion to get your contacts restored. Hope that helps.
