While I agree with most of your post, they could have increased the energy density of the batteries slightly, which would account for the slightly increased power rating for the same size. Whether they actually did this or not is another question. The one thing you would have to worry about though is the increased energy density of the battery would also increased it's potential to explode or fail prematurely.
