Wow...so you install a simple cab that does one simple thing...changes a registry key...but then you cannot undo that by simply reverting the registry key back to its original state??? That sucks big time! Something else must be getting changed by the OS as a result of it reading that key change.
I'd love to be able to help by trying it and tracking the registry and any file changes with before/after snapshots (SKTrakcer for instance), but unfortunately I have an Exchange policy that enables my lock anyway
