Re: Questions about video formats on the camera

A little more info - both the H.263 and H.264 formats come with the extention "3gp", and neither play on my computer. I know I can get the codecs and/or software, but I'm looking at this from the perspective of those I have to send these videos to - they may not be up to date either. The mpeg4 format makes an mp4 file, which my computer opens using WinAmp. The 3gpp2 format make a 3g2 file, which opens with QuickTime.

None of these files open with the standard Windows player, at least with my codecs. But avi files do. Was the TP1 the same, and could you ever add formats? Or at least have an app on the phone to convert them in the field without having to have a laptop?
