Re: Configuring wireless breaks data connection?

I have confirmed it with a sprint tech support representative that if you configure wireless WiFi and a static IP address on the Broadcom Network DHD adapter that the regular data services "3G" will not work when you turn Wifi off. You will have to clear your wifi settings each and every time you leave your access point in order to get "3G"
I find this to be absolutely absurd.
Steps we took.
1) Configuring in phone settings through EPST.
2) Hard Reset through the EPST application.

I would like to use my local network services when available, such as remote desktop. Sprint said that the device doesnt support changing wifi settings and maintaing "sprints data" services at the same time or even when you leave the Wifi access point.
They advised me to contact HTC directly since this is a limitation of the device itself.
Contacting HTC is a joke. I've been on the phone for over 2.5 hours with 2 different tech support reps for sprint.
Can anyone tell me if the verizon version will do this correctly ?

edit:They are sending a return kit.
