Thanks for the info... took me a long time to find this one for "Standalone GPS". That is all I want,
NO aGPS. As soon as someone adds info about aGPS to a fix, it kinda taints the results for me. Did they truly get "GPS" or are they picking up towers and reporting success because they get the "lock". It confirms what I have read in other excellent tutorials, BUT you made the point of not touching aGPS...
and for that I truly thank you!
btw I have not yet gotten my GPS to work... I needed THIS thread to fill in a few questions about doing the initial unlock and why I would be flashing "backwards". But since I've flashed to Alltel, then Bell, then custom ROM and back to Verizon without ever seeing satellites I am finally convinced.
Will report back.
