Sometimes we have to get burned before we learn that stoves are hot...
I never buy a Sprint phone off Craigslist unless we are at a Sprint store making the swap in store. I only turn the money over and expect them to turn the goods over after Sprint confirms it is A-OK in front of us both.
Too much risk. Especially if you can't afford to blow the cash.
As the classic saying goes... Haste makes waste...
