Exactly my point. OSs are designed to run WELL on what hardware will be a year or two from now. They just can't be released fast enough to run well on what you have in your pocket or on your desk today. If you want to be an early adopter for the features you'll have to take the performance hit. If you want speed and reliability, don't jump on new OSs until they (and your hardware) have matured.
