That whole 'open CDMA network' stuff Verizon, Sprint, etc. were talking about (just last year... source: http://www.engadget.com/2007/11/27/v...evice-in-2008/ ) has completely turned out to be a joke to get FCC regulators off their back. It looks like none of the CDMA providers were actually going to implement this change.

Pretty shameful.
