?s about ET9 functions & running services

Question 1: What are these services, loaded automatically via these DLLs:

dald/dald.dll
CIQ/CIQservice.dll
CIQAppDetector/CIQAppDetector.dll
stk_service/STK_Service.dll
ussd/USSD_Service.dll

Question 2: When entering URL or typing in name in the SMS address field, the XT9 is disabled. That is, one cannot using XT9 and the soft-keyboard defaults to multi-tap. TP1 and Diamond do not do this. This is something new for TP2. How can I disable this feature? I want to be able to use XT9 when entering URL or the SMS address field. I found some keys in HKLM\Software\Tegic\eT9\Ime\ContextAwareGlobal and ContextAwareSetting. I changed the values but no joy. Any info?

Question 3: With the HTC text input (phone pad, compact qwerty and qwerty) on Diamond and TP1, I didn't like how long I had to "press and hold" to get the special character or number to show up.

On Diamond and TP1, I found that by changing this value: HKLM\Software\Tegic\eT9\PressAndHoldTimer to a lower value reduces the press and hold time. I was using 250 (ms, I presume).

The TP2 has no such entry. I added the DWORD value, and I am now using 25. I am not sure if it makes a difference. I am curious about your experience.

I also found on the TP2, under HKLM\System\IME\SymbolSelector\SYMSelectorTerminat eTimeout. The current value is 60000. I wonder what this value governs. I'd appreciate any input.

I see people posting their connection speed--but why? It's one thing to show EVDO/HSDPA speeds, but I see people posting wired connections and I am puzzled (especially when the speed is not all that impressive). So, in that spirit, I will post mine:
