My wife has a USB based credit card reader for her business. She hooks it to her laptop so she can process credit card orders. I haven't really messed with it to see how it works, but I believe the OP wants to be able to do this using his TP instead of a laptop. Seems like a reasonable question to me....although I have no idea how/if it would work.
