Correct me If I am wrong, but I believe I received a 512mb card with my Mogul, and a 1GB card with my Touch Pro... So, yes, it's really cheap of them not to provide an sd card for a $599.99 phone. Excuse me, that's $637.49 with tax.
As far as how they made a sim card for a cdma..., the device is cdma/gsm. In its settings, you can utilize it in 3 modes: cdma only, gsm only, or both. Sprint offers a sim card, so that when you travel you can call Sprint and have them enable international usage with Sprint. Thus, they make more money off of you. But you can choose a different gsm carrier if you like.
