- One piece of software I'd suggest is Opera Mobile, a very capable mobile browser. The trials available expire every month (which is why they aren't included in the kitchen) but can be reinstalled.
- Staying with a non-updated bootloader will save you many headaches. The updated bootloaders do not seem to add any user noticeable improvements and introduce problems flashing the ROM.
- Generally it's better to use the baked in carrier customization included in the Kitchens. Typically they eliminates most of the cruft components in included by the carriers and keep everything essential. This also frees your extrom to be used for other storage purposes.
