GFXBoost is not the 2d drivers, it is just a workaround way of rendering graphics. If you are familiar with old browsers. Some browsers rendered piece by piece and the page expanded, others saved on that pre-rendering and rendered it all at once so they gave the "appearance" of being faster, this is similar.

As for which drivers are better Neo or Atom, Atom's are older but were confirmed to work on TP2. Neo's may be better but may require tweaking to make it work (haven't tried them and no one confirmed to yet, as far as I heard so I assume it doesn't by default)
