If you don't think microsoft is not in planning with these phone developers about changes made and marketing you're dead wrong. I'm definitely sure they are.
Windows mobile 6.5 is a huge necessity to at least wet the whistle for wm 7 because not all devices will ever run the new OS
but there are handsets that can run wm 6.5. Heck you can even note that wm 6.5.1 is made to run capacitive touch screens AND wvga that much is evident. The era of QVGA is gone and I'm sure VGA isn't too far behind. These standards, WVGA, capacitive touch is the future of wm. Should they have focused just on 7? Yes I thought so initially but it is pretty smart they didn't

ummm in case you did not know qvga is still very popular and made a huge comeback especially the touch vogue.
