RC == Release Candidate. It indicates that the rom is stable and nearing release status. It means we're near the end of the testing phases.
XIP as I wrote above means execute in place. Mike Calligaro did a great job of explaining it. Read
this if you're really interested. By official 0.7.0 I mean that it is not only running the aku programs and resources--it also is running the core of the os.
