No, but handset technology continues to innovate and evolve in need to catch up to the iphone. the goal I think for handsets is to make them marketable and usable as well as cover up many of the flaws windows mobile has (see 6.1 and htc)

If you don't think microsoft is not in planning with these phone developers about changes made and marketing you're dead wrong. I'm definitely sure they are.

Windows mobile 6.5 is a huge necessity to at least wet the whistle for wm 7 because not all devices will ever run the new OS
but there are handsets that can run wm 6.5. Heck you can even note that wm 6.5.1 is made to run capacitive touch screens AND wvga that much is evident. The era of QVGA is gone and I'm sure VGA isn't too far behind. These standards, WVGA, capacitive touch is the future of wm. Should they have focused just on 7? Yes I thought so initially but it is pretty smart they didn't
