Re: Coin Flip

The one posted above works. Here is one other alternative. Cost .99 cents.

OpenGL Coin Toss – Flip a coin on Windows Mobile

OpenGL Coin Toss

How do you resolve something when 2 of you cannot decide on how to settle something ? One way is rock paper scissor and the other is tossing a coin and calling heads or tails. I am going out on a limb and going to say that heads/tails is more popular amongst a wider audience, while rock/paper/scissors would be more preferred by younger generation. But there is a problem with heads / tails you might not always have a coin to toss around. So whats the next best thing ? How about your Windows Mobile device ? Tossing it and calling Screen / Back is one option, but there is a better way. For $0.99 you can get one of Herms Software’s nifty app called OpenGL Coin Toss. Its a simple app that gives you a virtual coin, the app requires .Net CF3.5 to work and will function on device with an accelerometer. To toss the coin just flick the phone towards or away from you, flicking it left and right had no effect on the virtual coin. The app gives you the option for you to choose 12 different coins, to invoke this feature you got to swipe from the bottom of the screen to the very top. Choose the coin you want and swipe from right to left to exit the coin selection screen. I had issues with the swipe gestures a few of the time I ran the app. To exit the app swipe from top to bottom on the screen.
The app has good sound effect and graphics. And if you flip the phone over and look from underneath you see the effect of gravity on the coin. The coin will fall on to the screen, its a cool trick.

OS Requirements: Windows Mobile 6.0 and up, OpenGL Support, Accelerometer
Worked fine on the HTC Touch Diamond

Screen Support: VGA, WVGA, QVGA, WQVGA

  • Simple app , works well
  • Good Sound
  • Good Graphics
