I think its desktop converts to .mobi format but I could be wrong.
www.mobileread.com has plenty of epubs for download if you really wanted to test.

That is true but its important that the metadata is supported as well. I love uBook and it is my reader on my phone

I agree with this thought. ubook reads tons of ebook formats where ereader does not. I look forward to the day where uBook handles epub 100%
