Honestly you should just try the 2.09 and run the alltel fix and see if that solves your problems, i'm pretty sure you'll be OK at that point (if you have a restore you can run it, not that i recommend restores, but it's same OS level). Definitely something to think about in the meantime. I did return that PM, but never saw him in IRC yet.
