Question ActiveSync NOT actively sync'ing...!

Well, like a good many of you, I have bitten the bullet and uploaded the latest incarnation of the Helmi/VerizonGuy WM6 0.7 ROM to my Verizon VX6700. All seemed to go well, at first blush. But, then... like little sub nightmares in a Stephen King novel... things began to happen. For starters, I began to have connection issues with ActiveSync - while attempting ot connect with my Windows XP desktop computer. Oh sure, I'd unplug my vx6700, do a cold boot and reconnect it to the USB cable/connection stand... and I'd see that my ActiveSync logo on the computer's task bar was green and the arrows were animating in little circles. Casting my eyes to my PDA's screen, I'd see that the Syncronization window was displayed (Damn, it wasn't there, before...! Wassup now...?!) A message on the PDA states that I must install ActiveSync 4.5 or newer on my desktop computer. And glancing up to the monitor on my desk, I see I'm being prompted to address a Microsoft ActiveSync issue... that AS cannot connect to the Windows Mobile powered device. I selected to trouble shoot the problem, followed their prompts through the stages... and STILL nothing. Knowing that I really DID have to transfer some information to and from the 2 Gig miniSD card - I opened my handy WM5torage (version 1.75) - whereby my card is now recognized as just another drive on the main computer. Sure, it's nice to have a work-around, but - I'd rather have a program that works! Any idea as to what the problem is...?! Anyone else have this problem?
