Tgmuhammad has a good alternative to getting hotmail to your phone and I have tried it myself but I do like the windows live way because it sync your email and contacts plus you can get your mail "as it arrives". Try to download the latest windows live from the windows mobile website. I have it working on 300 b4 just fine.
