I think the message counter will only show/count updates to the main inbox folder. I don't know and I haven't heard of a way to change this other than going through the account setup again to see if there might be a way to select a particular folder. Maybe you could setup different accounts for the diff folders. You might try using phm regeditor and look/search the registry and see if you can find the reg entry where it tells the email system which folder to look/download from. Hope you can figure it out!
