just yesterday I came across with wifi tethering and it's been working great for me. these are the ways I can use the internet from my phone to my laptop
1.USB cable with ok speed
2. Bluetooth with a lil slower internet
3. wifi with almost broadband conncetion.

My computer detects my wifi from my from my phone, but its unlocked and anyone can log in to it abd I do not want that. Another problem is that my ps3 will not detect my wmwifirouter automatically or manually. ANY HELP. yet I tried htc internet sharing, the first time messed up my wifi and had to format main memory. I tried again and it worked but it does not send out signal. my laptop or ps3 will not detect aanything with htc internet sharing. is there any one who can help and show me how my ps3 will detect my hotspot from my omnia.

ps. I no longer have home phone internet or internet service provided...so I want to use my phone as my wifi hotspot..
