yea, if you dont have arcsoft, you need it. but what was the other phone your friend sent it to? ive had the problem with people sending pics or vids from "dumbphone" to smartphone, so it could be some sort of wierd compatability issue...but ive had my girl send me vids
from her instinct and they work just fine...does your friends phone say how big the file is? as its converting it to a jpg, id think that your friends phone is changing it to that when it sends.
