Just because a custom rom doesn't show any problems before an update that doesn't mean that an update won't have an issue with something that the hard reset and flash didn't over write.
A stock flash will write all stock files to the correct address in the memory over writing anything that a custom rom left behind. In theory. LOL

they really need to change the way the devices flash to really 0 out all the crap. I meen the time it would take to zero out the device would be minimal with such small flash memory.

but i guess they dont design the phones to be flashed 6 times a week with different builds of an O/S haha
