Preciate the clarification.
I can't really see why hard resetting first would do anything. But like you said I do see a few reasons to flash back to stock, but that's only if your phone is really messing up.
But hey...if you don't mind waiting (cause its really only a 2-3mins) then go for it. I'm usually to anxious to get to the next ROM lol.
