The ram is exactly the same with a couple more bells and whistles http://pdadb.net/index.php?m=cpu&id=...lcomm_esm7206a. What's even more annoying is they use an older processor that's made for dual cdma and gsm yet cripple it in the firmware. What this tells me is that they probably could have just fixed the TP but decided to release a new phone with 75% of either old or the same technology as the predecessors. They could have at the very less double the ram in this phone, since the beautify larger video screen is probably going to take more ram then the original TP leaving you with less usable ram.

Does this mean that I'm going to pass on this phone, probably not. It also has nothing to do with price either, if I didn't hate AT&T so much I would have gotten all 3 iPhones and paid full price for them and left Sprint 3 years ago.

My issue is simply that this could have been a GREAT phone the first run though especially for the price they're charging. They could have upped the ram, used a newer processor, and released it with windows mobile 6.5 as it was released to manufacturers in May http://www.pcworld.com/article/16932...ows_phone.html.

Sprint is pretty low on ranking in the mobile communication market. They need to try and to stand out more and releasing the Pre is a great start. But matching what Verizon or TMobile releases is just another step back in my opinion. Sprint also is HORRIBLE with announcing their selection as they still haven't officially said Sept 6th or 8th or anything for that matter. Regardless of what CS says until it's in my hand this is all second hand information.

is that just incredible. Using the same ol cripple hardware but throwing in another .8 of a bigger screen. And then charge about 600$ for it. And ppl are all excited about it. Nope.. not me. I will pass. Tegra is coming soone. thats going to be a nice change in the graphic department.
