Just picked up a Verizon XV6700. Told Verizon to FORGET the data plan.
I can Wi-Fi onto my home server as well as Panera. I SEE others when I switch on in other paces but most are PROTECTED. But using the wifi works just fine. Don't NEED no Verizon Data plan unless you are looking for for PUSH email service. HTH
