Live Phone Access via PC

Back in my Nokia Days, I had the ability to use some Nokia PC Software "browse" my phone contents via Bluetooth; I was able to compose and snd/rcv txt msgs, access the phone calendar, and view/edit contacts in real time (so it wasn't a forced sync per say)

The desire is while I'm sitting here at my work PC I can read/respond to txt msgs on my pc rather than my HTC Touch Pro.

Microsoft MyPhone and the Dashwire service is too slow; while it's great for backups it takes too long for msgs to appear.

What are my other options?
