I think that the dpad problem is related to the phone going into suspend with bluetooth enabled. What is interesting is that when I put it into suspend by hitting the power button the dpad works fine when I resume. However if the phone timesout and goes into suspend then the dpad will not work on resume. Maybe there are different settings for both of these actions?
I also use phonealarm and have not experienced any kind of bluetooth drop outs like others have. Not sure how that could cause the connections to be more stable though. I just know I have read a couple others that use phonealarm and phonesuite have not experienced bluetooth drop outs. Probably unrelated but thought I would mention it.
