I had this issue in C220, CF03, and the custom ROMS. This has nothing to do with cooked roms, and is an isue with the TX9 keyboard. When I switch to a different keyboard (like SPB), the problem goes away. I have SPB keyboard installed, not becuase I like it, but because I need it as a backup if the other one craps out. A soft reset is the only thing that gets it working again for me.
