Did you use the VistaRUU workaround? I think I saw you were using Vista. I'm on a vista box and haven't had any issues connecting. HOWEVER, I have had some customers using one of our pps on various WM5 devices and both in XP and Vista there are some weird variances wth having to connect and disconnect the devices numerous times to get active sync to recognize the device. No AS recognize no PC working.

I also can't remember, but I know that I've seen a pop up with PC that indicates using an alternative method of connecting. Did you try that?
PC 6.01 Build 1256 here. The issue is that PC is detecting the phone as connected and trying to connect via ActiveSync before ActiveSync has fully connected. I don't think it should detect the device until ActiveSync is connected, so I have a feeling something is happening in the wrong order here. It could be a problem with WMDC or the ROM or Pocket Controller. It's been a low priority item for me. At some point I'll do some real investigation on this front.

I'm using Vista-64. The VistaRUU only works on Vista-32. I flashed my device in a VMWare virtual machine.

I've tried connecting through TCP/IP rather than ActiveSync. I've also tried the various options for changing the connection behavior. The TCP/IP option is unreliable (and I think SOTI knows that...that's why it's not the default) and always has been for me. The various options don't seem to have had any impact.

I really don't know how those contacts got on my dialer. I didn't even know who "Bryan" was. Very odd, but I'm not going to lose any sleep over it.
